Ceramic Coating VS Graphene Coating
Both formulas boast excellent paint protection properties that adhere to the paintwork of the vehicle for many years to come. As times have progressed, the technology within the automotive industry has come a long distance to provide car lovers with a solution far beyond the traditional wax and sealant. Infused with nanotechnology. As a general indicator, please refer to the table below for a slight overview of the differences between Graphene and Ceramic, but of course, this does not dive into the specifics above the chemical technology.

Ceramic Coating & Paint Protection Application Process
Unlike traditional forms of paint protection, our advanced nanotechnology has been revised and improved to deliver you superior results with greater ease than any coating on the market. Due to its forgiving nature, this coating can be applied in an outdoor setting able to withstand warmer temperatures under the sun if no shade is available. Furthermore, our quick-drying rapid technology, allows for it to dry at a faster rate than typical coatings, allowing it to cure and dry much faster. Achieve better results, faster without any compromises.
Exterior Paint Protection
1. Clean, decontaminate and correct the paintwork (case by case basis).
2. Using the applicator pad and attachment sleeve, apply generously drops to evenly distribute the product across the pad surface to prime it and apply extra on the pad accordingly for each new section with just a few drops, if the pad is sticky, and builds friction when applying, then add more drops.
3. Wipe the applicator pad across the painted surface in sections to distribute the coating evenly via a cross-hatch pattern. Allow for a few minutes for the product to ‘flash’ (bubble up/rainbow oily film appears), then buff off excess gently with a clean microfibre towel folded in quarters to preserve each side of the towel. Then use another separate towel for the 2nd wipe down to reveal a nice gloss/shine.
4. Work in sections and always perform a final inspection to identify ‘high spots’ areas with excess coating that was not properly buffed/levelled out. If working during warmer conditions, work in smaller sections.
5. The car can be driven as of the next day, but best to avoid a car wash for at least a week to allow the coating to fully cure by air-drying.
Interior Fabric/Leather Protection
1. Make sure the interior is cleaned well first prior to any application
2. Use the Interior Protection and spray directly onto the upholstery, generously. Caution: Please keep an eye out for overspray onto surrounding areas, point directly down onto the upholstery to minimise overspray.
3. Use an applicator pad or clean microfibre towel to wipe across the applied surface to enable an even distribution across the upholstery.
4. Allow for the product to air dry and cure, the warmer the temperature the faster the curing time.
The Power Behind Graphene Coatings
Graphene is a very interesting material. It is almost as strong as steel, yet thinner than a human hair. It is extremely lightweight and durable, and it is the thinnest material in the world. Graphene is also transparent and flexible, and it is the strongest material in the world, even stronger than diamond. That’s right, strong enough to be used as a coating on cars! Below are a list of accredited installers of the Duratek Fusion Range. Our range of nanotechnology based ceramic and graphene coatings have become an ever-growing favourite amongst many professional car detailers due to its amazing high-density matrix, which delivers a super easy application process with rapid drying. However, it is still recommended that the 7 -14 day curing time be honoured for maximal effect.
Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice, which gives it exceptional properties such as high strength, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity. Here are some ways in which graphene coatings can offer advantages over ceramic coatings:
1. Flexibility: Graphene coatings are highly flexible and can conform to different surfaces, including irregular shapes. This flexibility allows for better coverage and protection on complex surfaces compared to rigid ceramic coatings.
2. Transparency: Graphene coatings can be engineered to be highly transparent, which is particularly useful for applications where maintaining the appearance or optical properties of the underlying material is important. Ceramic coatings, on the other hand, are typically opaque.
3. Thermal conductivity: Graphene has exceptional thermal conductivity, which means it can efficiently transfer and dissipate heat. This property is advantageous for applications that require effective heat management, for example, heat is arguably the most dangerous culprit when it comes to etching due to contamination, whether it’d be acidic tree sap, bird droppings or overall dirt.
5. Barrier properties: Graphene coatings can provide an excellent barrier against gases and liquids, preventing corrosion, oxidation, or moisture damage. This makes them useful for protective coatings in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and marine applications. Ceramic coatings can also offer good barrier properties, but graphene coatings can potentially provide even better protection due to their unique structure.
